My first fully Historex mounted piece following my Hussars Royaux piece, after I had figured out details of Napoleonic dress and how the Historex instructions worked. I selected the 1813 campaign as the 1812 Bardin reforms seemed to have simplified the uniforms, making them easier to model.

The horse was animated from various Historex parts all cut up. Theatrical hair flailing in all directions seem to give this piece some energy. I lke this pose but if I were to rework this piece, I would make the figure lean forward more to shorten the plastic reins. I think that the reins should be generally held or tied up shorter to give better control over the horse. The face should also show more expression (with hindsight).

I carefully removed the horse from the base. Then I removed the figure from the horse. The figure itself was broken up into head, torso, arms and legs. I carved away the front part of the legs at the waist and repositioned the torso onto the legs. This new pose was test-fitted on the horse.

The head was removed and repositioned. The hat was glued back in place. The mouth and chin were scrapped away. The arms were pinned and repositioned.

The arm positions were adjusted and puttied over. The face is being resculpted.

Nice Job Blaster !

Hello Markster,

Thanks. The piece is still undergoing surgery...

Found this piece and am continuing the work. I removed the left arm to shorten it. The belt was also removed.

Found this piece and decided to reattach the left arm.
