New to me, anyways. The first one is called 'Sturmtruppen: WW1 German Stormtroopers (1914-1918)', by Ricardo Cardona. Published by Andrea Press, it is 215 pages of superb illustrations, mostly period photos, of uniforms, weapons, and equipment. The history adequately covers all the same aspects along with the structure and units. Highly recommended for those with an interest in the German Army. The photos are reproduced as well as any I've seen, very crisp on slick paper. Not cheap at $50 but worth it. The second book is a Peter Hart book called 'Fire and Movement: The British Expeditionary Force and the Campaign of 1914'. Published by Oxford and 480 pages, it promises to be very interesting. There is a map and picture section and lists at $35. Can't wait to get into this one. -- Al

Peter Hart has also written a fairly recent book The Great War: A Combat History of the First WW, more a primer than anything else. It's in my pile :wink2:

He's also books that may be of interest to you Al (which I'm sure you know about anyway), Aces Falling: War Above the Trenches 1918 and Bloody April: Slaughter in the Skies Over Arras 1917, as well as other WW I books.

Thanks, Brad. Hart is proving to be quite prolific. He also has written well received books on the Somme and Gallipoli, as well as works on the IRA. I do know of his airwar books but have not had a chance to read either of them as of yet. There is also a book on the air war over the Somme in 1916, to go with his air war books on 1917 and 1918. -- Al
