I was just wondering when we might hear about the new figures for 2007? Also, perhaps you could use this forum to announce official Britains discontinuation notices from First Gear.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum. I think if you closely watch postings to the forum, you will learn much about set retirements and new set issues.

Are you a Britains collector? If so, what lines to you primarily collect?

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Mike,

Typically you will find that the producers will release new catalogs between September and early November. 2007 catalogs are probably still available from various dealers. Have fun!

Hi Mike; I talked to R.Walker this morning and the new catalog proofs were on his desk. Once checked these will go to print so you will have images of all of the 2007 line very soon. Discontinued sets will be noted there also, Ken Osen/Hudson& Allen Studio

Ken have you any idea as to when we can expect to see what Britian with be featuring in their up an coming Zulu period of figures. It was mentioned on the site they were coming out with a matte finished line of figures and if so will they be appearing in the 2007 catalog.......The Lt.

I'll second that question, the L-T has sparked a lot of interest on the forum in the Zulu War and it would be great to get a little sneak preview.:)

Thanks Fred for your support in requesting a sneak preview and by the way what part of MA are you from.......Joe

If Britains do as good a job with the Zulu War series as they have done with their new WWII releases they should be fantastic!:)

Joe, I sent you a PM.

Ken is correct - the catalog is at the printers and will be out in February. Zulu War?? Very interesting. What would you guys like to see? Rorkes Drift version 3,554,657??? Isandhlwana? Hlobane? Ulundi?

Mike - we will post updates on here from time to time, so can look here or as Pat suggests catalogs etc. will be forthcoming as well.

Hi Guys,

I have to say that with the fantastic sculting and painting of the VC Series I would love to see some vignettes from other aspects of the Zulu War done like the Death of the Prince Imperial Louis of France who was killed in action around the 1st of June 1879. Of course the charge of the 17th Lancers at Ulundi. The capture/surrender of Cetshwayo. Any of these would make interesting additions to any Zulu War series. However, that said I would love to see some other areas covered especially in the sub continent or China. Lots of interesting battles to pick from there so I'm hopeful there will be some more really interesting sets coming down the pike.

All the best

Dave

Richard,

Prior to the catalogue release next month, will you be issuing any pamphlets like last year that can be posted here and sent to dealers?

The second half 2007/first half 2008 lineup is still evolving. There will probably be a couple of flyers mid year to show new sculpts as they are finalized. I think some of you will be very pleased with the new catalog (first half 2007) offerings.
Richard and I are considering new subjects, poses and scenics almost daily so we are better able to react to the requests and needs of the marketplace. This is a big improvement over the process used by other owners in the past and requires care before making announcements.
Richards contacts are from every corner with plenty of requests for the obvious, and also some requests for very obscure subjects. Some of these are already in development, some are probably too unusual to consider in the immediate future...but keep the requests coming! Ken Osen/Hudson & Allen Studio

Yes, please revisit Rorkes Drift even if it is version 3,554,657. As someone who is late to the Zulu War party and with Britains great new sculpting and painting I'm sure it would be recieved with great enthusiasm.;)

Ken,

Thanks for the detail. Too bad have to wait for the catalogues and can't get some previews but I guess that is part of the marketing strategy. Good to know Richard is doing lots of networking. I really get the impression that First Gear has pulled Britains up over the last year.:)
