Gentle Friends,

One of the great joys of attending OTSN is meeting new friends. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to meet and become well acquainted with Norm and Kay Rodriguez. They have since become warm and gentle friends of ours. Norm and Kay specialize in obtaining pre-owned sets of soldiers, largely manufactured by Britains, Imperial, and William Hocker. Most of the sets they sell are still new, never removed from the box. If a set has been removed from the box, you can bet it is pristine.

Whenever I am fortunate enough to attend OTSN, I will soon journey to Norm's and Kay's room. Upon arriving there, I am warmly greeted by Norm and Kay and we proceed to catch up on events since we last visited. However, our visiting does not interfere with my shopping. As always, they are very accomdating and they show me the wonderful toy soldier treasures they have for sale and, as always, I accomodate them by making a purchase or two. While our visiting does not distract me from my shopping, it does distract me from taking pictures of the terrific items in their room. Consequently, I was only able to snap a few pictures while I was there. Below you should find several photographs of some of the Imperial figures they had for sale. It is but a small sample of what you will find in their room.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Gentle Friends,

I indicated that Norm and Kay usually have a goodly number of Britains set for sale. I was only able to take two pictures of the Britains sets in their room but there were plenty more available there. Below, you will see the two photographs of Britains sets below.

I also indicated that they always have some wonderful William Hocker sets for sale. I did not bother taking pictures of their Hocker offerings as I took so many pictures of Mr. Hocker's work in Mr. Hocker's room. Nevertheless, Norm and Kay usually have a fairly extensive series of Hocker sets for sale. I was fortunate to be able to buy one.

Without a doubt, Norm's and Kay's room is one of my favorites to visit. They are very special people and I highly recommend them to you.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

More great photos Pat. I really do need to get to this show one year and see these treasures first hand. :)

Thanks

Scott

Once again thank you for the photos Pat. I really like them. Most of my collection is gloss and so these photos of Britains, Hocker sets, and Imperial are really nice to see.
I've made a note about Norm and Kay Rodiguez in my soldier book. If one day I get to the OTSN Show, I will go and see them and their offerings.

They are. I was in Norm's room and he had them. I thought he would have sold them by the time Pat took the photos. Norm is a heck of a nice guy. I enjoyed chatting with him.

Hi Brad,

I am glad you met Norm and had the opportunity to spend some time with him. Yes, he and his wife are exceptionally nice people. I cannot tell you how many nice things they have done for me during the past few years. I would never attend OTSN without spending time with them. Now that you have met them, you can easily understand why their room is one of my favorites.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Pat,

I first met Norm when he contacted me about a collection of K & C Rough Riders he was trying to sell for a collector. We talked a few times on the phone and I gave him some assistance (although he probably didn't need it). He eventually sold the collection to Hobby Bunker, who had it in Chicago. Anyway, when I saw Memphis Toy Soldiers, I knew that must be Norm so dropped in and said hi. Hope to see him again next year. If you talk to him, please give him my best.

Pat
Thank you for posting these photographs. It is good to know that the glossy toy soldiers are still going strong.
Regards
Damian
