One of the great events at OTSN is the Figarti Luncheon. Dedicated Figarti fans make certain they attend the event in order to enjoy great fellowship with other collectors and to be present when Rich Wang unvails to the public the newest "shock and awe" items. These "shock and awe" items are always a very carefully guarded secret and no one knows what will soon be announced.
Figarti offers a fine lunch for those fortunate enough to attend and the luncheon is followed by a presentation of information regarding the Figarti company and its offerings. As this presentation progresses, the tension and anticipation of the new shock and awe items builds. Finally, Rick produces those items whose existence has been most carefully protected. And, as usual, the guests experience shock and awe at what Figarti has managed to produce.
This year, the shock and awe items were a terrific LST (Landing Ship, Tank) and some new Armored Fighting Vehicles. The LST is large enough to accomodate several of Figarti's tanks, making it a huge piece.
Figarti brought a total of three of the LSTs to the show and promptly sold all three. In addition, the last information I received is that they had taken 13 pre-orders for this item at the show. Not only did one collector order the LST, but he ordered six Figarti tanks to place on it! The price for the LST is somewhere between $1600 and $1700, which, when you see this item up close, is a very reasonable price.
