I usually set up an annual Christmas display, and just completed this years set up today. The theme is a variation of Prince William and Cates wedding with a span of 3 centuries of British SOldiers and the Jolly old St Nick himself. I apologize to the rivit counters upfront about the historical accuracy, but it met my goals of having lots of color, thrilling my Grandsons and most important, acceptable to be on display in the family room for the next month or so by "She Who Must Be Obeyed" (Good news is she loves it---bullet dodged and goals met.) Hope you get a kick out of it as well. 5 photos here but could upload more if need be.

It might be that folks received Britains soldiers for Christmas or that the old department stores like Jorden Marsh in Boston had huge displays of British and German made soldiers, that Christmas display of colorful soldiers and castles are a real hit! British redcoated soldiers look especially "Christmassy".

Walt...that looks very nice...and if color was your target...you're spot on...it's pretty lively and definitely vivid...great job!!!!

Nice display, Walt! I haven't decided on mine yet, but it doesn't go up till St. Nicholas' Day (the 6th), so I have time to decide.

Prost Weihnachten!

I like that a lot, Walt {bravo}}
Very nicely done and a great idea to use the variety of "Redcoats".

Wait I bet you are tempted to sneak a few more figures into the diorama given you have a pass to display for a period, but I guess that could start a war which you do not need at Christmas. Hope you get lots of positive comments from family & friends, cheers, Robin.
