Guys, This years Texas Show was hands down a well put together and very entertaining event. From the location of the show inside the Historic Menger Hotel, to KingsX nearby,Friday Nights Pre-Show Party and the over 100 Dealers
in attendance there was plenty of enjoyment and fun to be had. Add in the top notch breakfast which was included at the Menger. One could have eggs Benedict, any Omelette of your choosing,a full array of fruit, deserts, you name it.
For the wives wanting to do other things an indoor 3 story shopping mall is 2 minutes walk from the front doors of the Menger. Go 1 block the other direction and the "Alamo" awaits those wanting a taste of Texas History.
Head out the front doors of the Menger and walk 300 yards straight ahead and the River Walk with all of its Restaurants, Bars, Cafe's has something for most anyones appetite.
Then comes Saturday evenings Dinner Symposium with King&Country's very own Andy C. leading the events, bringing in Ken Osen from Britains, Thor Johnson from AeroArt, and Matt Murphy from Hobby Bunker. Add in the featured guest
WWII Veteran Ret. Col. Richard Cole (Doolittle Raid Participant). I had the pleasure of drinking a beer with the Colonel and exchanging bits of info about each others Military careers. For a man 91 years old he was quite sharp !
Meeting fellow Treefrog members for the very first time like Duke(WWII Buff) Howard(NorthGate Woods) Mike (MikeMiller1955) Carlos(Desk11 Desk12) was a very pleasant experience, looking forward to next year guys !
So.......If you have not been to the Texas Toy Soldier Show yet and have been contemplating going, it is a well put together event especially if you are within 8 hours driving distance to San Antonio it would be a shame to miss out !!!
See you all next time around :salute::
