I'm glad to see Matt/Constantine taking the First legion show on the road sort of speak!! as I have been reading the link as seen here and looks to be a fantastic show with many great modelers world wide and will be a wonderful venue to show off some great First Legion product and who knows maybe pick up a ribbon or two for show entrys?? also hoping to see my diorama "a bridge to Inferno" (which now belongs to First Legion) make an appearance at the show, plus David Marshall has been posting some First Legion boards on his facebook page which I also hope will be available for viewing at this show?? I think this is a great step to promoting First legion and this venue looks to be a good mix of modelers, toy soldier collectors etc. next stop maybe First Legion will hold it's own show? kind of like Kings X, or be more involved at the West Coaster/London/Chicago shows?? either way I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing how this show goes and hope Matt will give us some updates/photos here on the show after it's over, good luck to First Legion in show entrys, make us proud and bring home some Blue Ribbons!!...Sammy

Say's a lot for FL that they can produce a first class competitively priced product. I have said it before. Their Civil War Range is second to none!

The World Figure Expo is a great show, it's like the Olympics as it moves around from country to country every four years or so, it was held here in Boston back in 2005 over July 4th weekend, it attracted many American as well as international collectors.

From my standpoint, it was more of a model figure show than a toy soldier show, ie, the vast majority of the collectors there wanted unpainted castings, not prepainted toy soldiers/model figures. I can't recall if I had First Legion at that time, I don't think I was a dealer yet. That said, that sort of prepainted figure would be popular there.

Also, the competition area was incredible, some spectacular dioramas, vehicles and single figures, many of which were available to purchase and from what I was told, many of them sold and sold for staggering amounts.

Nicholas from Crown Miniatures, Matt from The Hobby Bunker and I talked about chipping in, buying a boat and sailing over, but it died on the vines as when we pooled our money, all we could afford was a used inflatable raft with several holes in it.........................

I remember that show ... Outstanding.
The figures were of the highest caliber in painting and sculpting. The show was a bit smaller than I had expected but the quality was unmatched. There was a incredible "Stalingrad" diorama there if my memory serves me. I believe it has appeared on the Forum a while back.

You, Matt and Nicholas ....????:rolleyes2:
George must be Moe; however I can't decide which one is Larry and which is Curly. {sm4}

That Stalingrad diorama was incredible; the same modeler who made that one also made the recent one displayed at the MFCA show back in May.

See Larry; who said your memory goes once you get older, yours is as sharp as a bowling ball...........:wink2:

I'm more of a Shemp fan, Moe is their leader and I just go with the flow..................
