With 2016 drawing to a close, it has been a good year for K&C Napoleonic collectors. This year K&C released French hussars, British and French foot artillery, the Old Guard, and a new Napoleon with two ADC's. What are other collector's hoping to see next year? Personally, I'm hopping to see the 95th Rifles as well as some British and French generals who fought at Waterloo.

Cheers,

Brendan

Napoleon in Egypt Series.......Mounted Mamelukes in action, French Hussars and marching infantry.

Napoleon and his generals at breakfast before Waterloo; Some Austrians for Aspern/Essling and other battles; allied general staff in meeting mode; Duchess of Richmond's ball; French light cavalry Lancers or Chasseurs; dragoons; allied troops in non-combat positions.

Some Austrians for Aspern/Essling and other battles..............

Outstanding suggestion.

I sound like a broken record at this point, but some Austrian Infantry, cavalry and artillery would be great as well as Prussian Infantry, Cavalry and artillery.

The Austrian white uniform may be a bit boring, but Hungarians with blue pants, Hussars, Cuirassiers and lancers would be great, as would Prussian infantry, militia, Hussars, Cuirassiers and dragoons would be nice as well.

If the thought of doing those sort of opponents is off putting, then how about some additions to the Waterloo series like Dutch Belgians, Nassau troops or Hanovarians?

I don't think there is any chance of Austrians coming in the near future because K&C is concentrating on the latter part of the Napoleonic Wars, 1812 onward, especially Waterloo, so I can't see nay troops for there emerging.

At previous time when I have heard, and read, from Andy about the release of Prussians, he isn't interested. Seems that WW2 Germans are his main German interest, and not 1800s, so again, I can't see them coming either.

I'd guess that the success of the 7th Hussars, at rest, may spurn on something similar, maybe British Infantry? As far as some other minor states, like Holland, Hanover, Belgium etc, I'd suggest there would be less interest, so they would only be a limited release.

I'd like to see more dead and wounded, on both sides, and 'at rest' poses, so lets keep asking for that, and we may be rewarded??

I'd like to see them too ... but what time period??? If they are early in the Napoleonic Wars, you have one style of coat and hat, only to change later in the Wars.

I'd prefer to get 'German' regiments because many makers have produced the 'Hungarian' Regiments, but hardly any of the white trousered infantry.

Who would oppose them??? K&C don't make early war infantry, just later period, 1812, so no enemy.

The Russians were a 'one of' release based on the 1812 uniform, so no use in 1805 as an ally ..... therefore the Austrians will stay on the wish list, unfortunately :(

I know this is a MATT thread, but I wish we could get some GLOSSY Napoleonics again..

After the War of the fifth Coalition ended in 1809, Austria was knocked out of the war until the War of the sixth Coalition from 1812 to 1814, they were specifically involved in the 1813 and 1814 battles leading up to Napoleons surrender.

So, troops from that time period. You can't do 1808/1809 Austrians as like you said, there are no French in the current catalog to oppose them.

Years ago I asked Andy about producing "Early Empire" Napoleonics".....Austerlitz, Jena/Auerstadt, Eylau and Friedland.....Austrians, Prussians and Russian adversaries.
The French uniforms were different pre-1812 but very colorful indeed.
Andy said that "Waterloo sells" so he did not think the earlier periods were marketable.
He ventured into the Egyptian campaigns and many years ago the Spanish campaigns (but no Spaniards, Portuguese or guerrillas) but very limited releases.

I thought the Russians from Borodino were excellent and have over 100 of them but no cavalry and personality figures ever came out.

The Austrians were out of the war from the latter part of 1809 till 1812, but became involved again in 1812 until the conclusion, so you could do troops from 1812-1815.

Andy has told me at one of our annual Chicago sit downs that he's not interested in doing Prussians, so you are correct there; that said, I think at one time he also said he's not interested in WWII Russians or troops for the Far East and as we've seen, both of those have been visited, so never say never as they say.

As far as the minor states; yes, they do not have the wow factor of the French and British, but they were extremely important in defeating Napoleon at Waterloo, throw in the Duke of Brunswick and The Prince of Orange as personalities.........................

Some British officers and Generals etc on foot and sitting around as per the recent Hussars and Nap and aides set.

Never had a Wellington on foot.{sm2}

You and I have discussed this a number of times, plus yourself and a raftload of other customers were standing in line waiting for my order for all those wonderful Austerlitz French, Russians, Italians and Austrians from Austerlitz from Kronprinz. All that were delivered before that deal went sideways were the French Hussars and I sold every one of them that were sent to me.

I am hoping against hope that some company will go in guns blazing and launch a range called "Early Empire Napoleonics" and do French, Italians, Russians, Prussians and Austrians for Austerlitz, Jena/Auerstadt, Eylau, Friedland, Aspern Essling and Wagram to cover the battles from 1805 through 1809. French and Prussians in bicornes, Russians in their early uniforms, Austrians in crested helmets, etc, etc.

It would take a huge pair to pull it off as it would be very deep in scope and codes, but I can only imagine the worldwide reaction to it............................"true" Napoleonic collectors would need to step up and support it.

The overall lack offerings from all toy soldier manufacturers for the 1805-1809 campaigns and battles is similar to WWII offerings for the campaigns and battles from 1939 through 1941; campaigns in Poland, Belgium, Greece, France and the early stages of the fighting on the Eastern Front.

K & C has done their part with their terrific Fields of Battle range and some early Russian Front offerings.

I wonder what interest will be sparked by the upcoming "Dunkirk" movie?

Sorry to take the thread away from Napoleonics, but the point stands..........................

British 10th Hussars Waterloo 1815 would be really nice and French Carabineers 2nd Regiment Waterloo 1815 would be a nice addition. All in attacking poses for a change with the odd diorama set..^&cool:cool: Russian and Austrian Generals from Borodino or Austerlitz and fictional characters from Leo Tolstoy masterpiece War & Peace... please. This would be the icing on the Cake:tongue:
