They are awesome! The winter one would look great on my table, add a few trees and there you got something that would look nice.

Wow, I could really set up a cool convoy on one of those! I don't think I can even afford to ask how much these cost.

These mats are a very nice accessory item.

Hi Gary, if you look under the K&C thread (Normandy village dio pics) you will see a large grass matt that Mark made for me on the American side of the battle, he customed made the size, and put in the winding road, he can make the matts any size you like, I love having my convoy in the dio, the costs part is very reasonable for what you are getting, if your going for any size dio I recommend the matts highly...Sammy

I especially like that the mats can be any size to completely cover a display shelf or even a bit oversized. The trimmed bits of grass or snow can be used between bbuildings on a cobblestone street where the street runs in front of the buildings but doesn't cover the small gaps between buildings.

The oversize terrain features like a gentle hill to be placed under the mat. I ordered several different mats and am anxiously waiting for them to arrive so I can do some dios.

Hey:)

Was just wondering how much the summer mats with the road in it would cost?:)

Thanks:D

I just got a desert mat and it is great. I now know I need a custom one or two for many different battlefield settings. It works great with Napoleonics BTW.

I received 5 different mats and am just beginning to do some small dioramas. The first one was using the desert mat. Looks great. It won't be long until I order a few more.

As a suggestion, the mat with the small stream could have the stream more centred and wider with wide dirt borders instead of grass right to the stream edge. Putting a shallow base under all of the mat except where the stream is would cause a shallow gully to be formed and troops could attack defenders across it. In fact, a 28 inch X 12 inch mat with the gully splitting the 28 inch length and allowing the extra length over the standard 24 inch mat for the elevation change of the gully, would be perfect.

Terry,

Did you order the non-custom ones (i.e. BAR 192) or custom ones. I just ordered from Treefrog the BAR 192 (desert), which is 24 x 12, plus a few accessories.

My shelves are 23 X 13 (unfortunately that is inches - not feet) so the standard ones work for me. I did suggest a snow with mud road in a post here a few months ago, and he made it. The mats I got were Desert, medium grass, medium grass with dirt road, medium grass with stream, and snow with mud road. All are 24 X 12, but only a few were shown on the Build-a-rama site and some of those were only 12 X 12. They have since added a few more.

They could not really be considered custom as 24 X 12 is one of his standard sizes and I saw all of them on e-bay, one time each, except for the winter with mud road. But he would not accept international bids (as if Canada is international :D ). So I waited for what I thought was a reasonable length of time for them to appear on the Build-a-rama site. When they didn't appear - I went after him. He said to e-mail him (Mark Vuncannon) and tell him what I wanted. He charged me the standard price - not a custom price. The desert one is the most expensive - lots of work putting in the scrub grass tufts.

I ordered the standard BAR 192 etc. It is a good size for shelves but I need something bigger for larger displays. The Napoleonic figures start to add up after a while.;)
