Tom ,

Loved Errol Flynn growing up...Made some real classics !

Joe
Ref Errol...I have often wondered why he did not appear in the first Aussie film of the ALH...The 40,000 Horsemen...made in 1940...which I saw as a kid ...we ..the kids..all played games of the movies..in the backlanes...parks and at home with plasticine... maybe .the reason Errol was not in the film was he was just making it big in Hollywood at that time...and I doubt his studio would give him leave to make a crummy Aust film ( it was a crummy film... except for the charge bit )...he went on to play all his beaut pirate and Calvary films... I think he made the Robin Hood movie in 1939....Errol..unlike J Wayne...applied to join the American Armed Service's...he was rejected as 4F....in real life he had a few medical problems.....(J Wayne was 3F,,later in the war he had a chance to change that to "Let me at 'em.".but decided to play war hero's instead...this is what I have seen on the net...true or not...I dont know)..".Three Cheers for Errol".......TomB

Tom ,

Errol did have many health issue's & was rejected for military service as you said 4F , which is ironic considering his roles he had in the movies...If you are interested in WW2 themed movies , one of my favorite Errol Flynn movies was Edge of Darkness (1943)...
There are few iconic actors like him around anymore !
