Dear All,

I am now watching this 3 part mini-series, and its excellent. A retelling of the cataclysmic events that led to the outbreak of the Great War. Just superb acting from all the key characters. Some of the scenes are subtle parodies of real events, I believe.

I am no expert on WWI but the Kaiser, as portrayed here, seems to have agitated for an immediate and limited war to be waged by Austria upon the Serbs as a matter of national pride, but due to miscommunication, it escalated into the greater conflict. Perhaps some of my more learned herpetologists/metallurgists can enlighten me? Thanks....:)

Very interesting. It would nice to hear how it holds up to more authoritative history.

It does seem that Royal Cousins at War gets rated a little higher. Have not seen either one, but will be looking for them.

Germany is blamed because they gave the Austrians a "blank check" to rein in the Serbs, who were an irritant to the Austrians well before the assassination of the Archduke.
