Looks like the opening scene from BAND OF BROTHERS !

That plane is HUGE !

Great photo - but how did those three Germans at the top left sneek onto a Allied airfield? Did they wander over from another display to have a look? No wonder they are being stopped by the MPs!

Remember the airfield scene from Band of Brothers? Those "Germans" are walking around showing the Airborne guys the "Jerry clobber"!

Looks like room 4301 is holding a ton of fun in there !
Warbuff26 Thanks for sharing the photo !!!

You've got a better memory than mine! I'm even more impressed with the display!

SPLENDID LOOKING C-47 USAAF WW2 CARGO AIRPLANE!

I had a relative, older 1st cousin, who died a couple of months before I was born bailing out of a C-47 during the start of operation "Market Gargen", 17 September 1944. He was a 1st Lt. co-pilot of a C-47 that had #10 US Army paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division on board who were able to bail out before the badly on fire C-47 had to crash land just a few hundred yards into Germany. Alas, the cousin I never met did not survive as his parachute did not open. The pilot who stayed stayed with C-47 to crash land survived to talk about it. #3 of the #5 man C-47 crew survided and #2 did not.

I would like to get this C-47 model airplane made by K&C in honor of my 1st cousin WW2 pilot. What are the measurements? What is the cost?

Gary

So Andy asked if I'd be interested in bringing my C-47 up to the show to sit next to the one he brought......heck yes! Here are some pictures of the scene now with an additional C-47!

It would be nice if Andy sold the commando poster in various sizes.

Speaking of posters, some of the emblems from the new Damaged Building would make some cool posters.

Great story mate!

Make sure you don't get ome with invasion stripes as this was an Operation Overlord thing!

Also if you do some research i'm sure you could get the exact numbers painted on it as were on your cousin's plane!

Good luck mate!

It's Saturday night here in Blighty, is there any chance of some other K&C Chicago pics? I am sure there's been more than what we've seen from this thread
