Came across this in Osprey: "Although they normally had white facings, the 47th went through the Quebec campaign wearing clothing originally destined for Shirley's disbanded 50th foot - with red facings."
 
If John ever does the King's colours for the 78th Highlanders, he should note the following:

"as its officers persisted in referring to themselves as the 63rd there is good reason to believe that they actually went into action with LXIII still emblazoned on them."

Appartently they had been re-designated from the 63rd to the 78th.
