This is one of two figures I've made for a jousting scene. I was pleasantly surprised to get this to come out in my first pour attempt in a simple 2 part mold.

Your castings keep getting better and better with each new release..Michael

Thank you sir, much appreciated! The second character in this set is in a very complicated pose that still has me scratching my head, but I'll figure it out eventually. I think knights aren't in so much demand, but they are a guilty pleasure, which is the best kind usually.

I'm not familiar with little Army (I know, I'm woefully ignorant). All my stuff is made from scratch and then I make my own molds and do (the best I can) painting. Does it look similar to something you've seen? Here is the original sculpture I did, you can also see how the second figure might be a tricky mold:

Not that I know of. I was really just guessing since a lot of guys do not make their own molds even if they cast. Like me.

For armature I'm using 20 guage copper wire I find in the jewelry making section at the craft store. For sculpting, this set was back when I was trying different types of Sculpey, which I still use sometimes. If I'm sculpting over a generic metal frame (like a marching figure) I use white Milliput. Sometimes I end up with composite figures of Sculpey and Milliput. I have a Bengal Lancer I'm working on now that is one such hodgepodge. If you're not looking at it through my mind's eye of how it will look, you'd think it was a total disaster.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into that stuff. The main problem with my Lancer is his horse! I've sculpted dozen of little guys, but this is only my 2nd horse.. Hoping to get him all done around Christmas.
