Does any one out there know of any manufacture or dealer [store] that sells or makes 54mm metal wagons? I was in a store in Connecticut and saw a wagon but the clerk did not know the manufacture of it. Covered wagons or ambulance for the American Civil War era. Thank You All.:):rolleyes2::)

Thank You Fort-Stamford, but I am looking for other manufactures other than the major manufactures that We all know of. I am from Stratford, Ct. and now live in Branford, Florida. Were is Fort Stamford or is this Your forum name? We just made a visit to Stratford and I went to a store in Mystic, Ct. and there was a wagon in the store that I never saw on any web site. I am trying to find out who is the manufacture. Thank You: Mr Colt 45

Hi,

I live in Stamford, CT, and Fort Stamford was a Revolutionary War redoubt located about less than a 1/4 mile in back of my house and property and situated just off of Westover Road. As to wagons you may want to contact W.D. Paulussen, 39 Seneca Trail, Wayne, NJ 07470 Tel. 973-694-2727. His business is called "Wagons of Wood" (54mm Transporation items are his specialty). The other contact is Collectors World, in Cape Cod, MA that dealt with Ron Wall Miniatures. Another contact is Quartermaster Corps.

Regards,

Charles

Paulssen was my thought, too. Glad to hear he's still around; he used to come to the shows, but I haven't seen him in a while. He published a newsletter, too, if memory serves.

His range included a pigeon loft wagon, I think. I'll have to look through my archives and see if I still have any of his catalogs or newsletters.

I can check about Carl Hoegermeyer's Quartermaster Corps, I have some older catalogs of his, too. As far as I know, he doesn't have a website, but he's a member here and checks in occasionally, so maybe he'll see the thread and give us an update.

If you're not averse to building kits, there are some kits out there, too, including some very good ones in styrene, for the scale modeling hobby.

Prost!

Just purchased the Federal Ordnance Wagon by Britains (issued late 2005 - early 2006). It was designed by London Bridge Toy Soldiers of PA for 1st Gear. The only change I made when assembled is that the outrider and saddled mules should be leading the 4-mule team in lieu of being closest to the wagon (as shown in 2006 catalogue). In addition, I suggest adding missing chains (not part of set but an add-on) that connect the lead mules to each other and the secondary set of mules to each other. There are existing connecting rings on the chest harness on the mules to facilitate this embellishment. Will be adding photo when finished.
