Hi

working on some new conversions - Armies in Plastic donor figures involved.

77th & 78th Regiments British-Indian Army 1880-1900 era

These units wore Egyptian style fezzes and one had a red tunic with green facings the other a rifle green tunic with red facings so very colourful mix

Will post photos when completed

Cheers
Dave

The two regiments of Moplahs were easily distinguishable because the 77th wore a rifle green tunic, faced red, whilst the 78th wore a scarlet tunic faced green. For the 77th this was a complete departure from the uniform of the old 17th whose position in the Madras line they had inherited, being red with white facings. The fez has a black tassle not seen here. The buttons and shoulder titles are of black metal.

thanks Mirof for the exact details - 1903 -1907 would be more accurate for the uniforms involved. The Armies in plastic Indian infantry with Egyptian Army head/fez should work ok
