Tommorrow is the 8th anniversary of September 11, when America was attacked. Take time out of your day tomorrow to remember the fallen may they be civillians on the planes in the buildings, the resucers Firefighter Police Paramedics, and there families.

Never Forget honor the fallen

Yo Troopers, words still fail me on this, and taking family out of the equitation is the one thing that affected me more than any other atrocity that I have witnessed in my lifetime. To see people from some countries actually celebrating in the streets was just beyond me. We have just seen the release of the Lokerbie bomber, and more scenes of jubilation and a hero's welcome. So are we any futher down the road I dont think so.

But America was warned what was coming. I still have the 1986 movie made 15 years before 9/11 starring Peter Strauss Title was "UNDER SIEGE" which basically forecast the 9/11 happening. If any of you guys never saw this movie, its one you must watch, its like the writers could see into the future.

God Bless all who perished on this sad day.

"LEST WE FORGET"
Bernard.

That date is scarred into my memory, I will never forget the horrific images seen on the news that day.

Will also never forget the bravery, courage and resilience of the American people in the aftermath.

Thoughts are with you today.

It's a day I'll never forget, I was sitting near the AFTN (Airfield Telecommunications Network) receiver at work. I'd picked up that an unidentified aircraft had flown in to WTC. At first reports were of a light aircraft but as soon emerged that this was to be no ordinary day as all transatlantic traffic were potential bogies.

Thoughts are with the relatives, friends and loved ones and prayers of those that trgically lost their lives that fateful day.

There is not a day that does not go by that I do not forget watching the bodies falling out of the trade center!:( And I will never forget the dead and the lost, and the average American's that became heroes that fatefull September day!

Many terrible images from that day. Just this week I saw a video of the empty plaza outside the towers while they were still burning. At one point the cameraman scans up the side of the tower until at some unbelievable height you can finally see the black smoke emerging. In the background at the ground level there is elevator-type music still playing in the plaza as bits of burning debris are falling. Just a tragic and unreal scene.

Every September 11 I believe it's MSNBC plays back the origional broadcast from that day. Watched it again this morning and it is actually sureal.
I also have a documentory on DVD done by 2 French brothers who were at the time doing a documentory about a probationary FDNY. They have the only footage of the first jet hitting the WTC. I'll watch that again tonight.
It is still unbelievable. I would have to say in my lifetime (63 years) this ranks as the most telling event, I guess second would be the JFK assasination.

My father died on 9/10 of that year in R.I. We drove in from PA. overnight through N.Y. to be with him at the end. When we woke up the next morning to the attack, we counted our blessings for getting in before the disaster...Michael

My son was in the second wave of responders to the WTC. . . the official pictures he's showed us (much different from press releases) taken from ground level give a much better image of the total devastation. Fortunately, his health has remained good; not true of other members of USAR Task Force Eight. Must add that we're extremely proud of his contribution, small as it is compared to others.

A day of sad memories. God rest the poor souls who died and G.od bless and comfort those who still suffer the grief

I remember tuning in the news that morning while waiting to drive my wife to work. I tuned in right after the first reports of the first attack. At the time I remember thinking how could an aircraft hit that building accidently? I just kept rolling that thought around in my head until the watching the second aircraft hit, and then the fog cleared from my brain. It was an overpowering revelation. Never to be forgotten. -- lancer

There is a smell etched into my mind for the rest of my life.

It was a smoldering mix of plastics, electronics, glass, rubber and flesh. We breathed it for two weeks whenever the wind blew easterly until the fires burned out.
