A 1/30 scale model of the 12 century Norman Keep at Rochester, Kent, England. The keep was built using Exin Castillio blocks, over 1000 blocks were used. The model is 23" wide X 16 " deep X 29" high. The photo is of the actual Rochester Castle. The keep is one of the best preserved in England or France. Figures can be scene behind the Merlons of the Parapet in the model. The tower roofs would have been used during the period when the Keep was occupied.

Excellent model, did you built this? The Playmobil flags are a little campy for such great work.

I consider it a toy castle and my effort palls in comparison to what others have done with Exin Castillios. a Google search of Exin Castillios will show structires like the Arch of Titus, A french Chateau and all manor of wonderful building. I believe they have building contests in Europe using these marvelous block sets. I purchased about 10 of the largest sets in 1973 and I have built many different castles and fortifications over the years . The Norman Keep is my largest project to date. The Roman Gate on another post shows the great flexiblity of these blocks. Please see what others have built with them on the web; it is truly amazing IMO.
