While in lovely Korea at the firing range I had the distinct pleasure of witnessing the A-10 do a gun cannon run on the range we were just on. The sound of the rounds hitting the earth was absolutely horrifying AND THEN you heard the gun (in the sky somewhere) a split second after the rounds hit the ground. The craziest, weirdest most unique sound one has ever heard. To be that close to the impact of those Gatlin Gun rounds was terrifying.

There is no AT-AT, tank, Imperial cruiser that take on the A-10. It is truly "Death from Above". So, glad that plane in on our side.
