Did you know that the 1968 movie "Bandolero!" had a sheriff (played by George Kennedy) named July Johnson with a deputy named Roscoe? Well, the book/movie "Lonesome Dove" (1985/1989) had a sheriff named July Johnson with a deputy named Roscoe, as well. Methinks Larry McMurtry must have liked "Bandolero!" a lot to have borrowed the two names for the same role types. Thoughts? -- Al
