I will post a few pics of the annual last night. Very powerful. 15k Union soldiers buried there. 1 confederate may be buried there and a few from other conflicts. 13k unknown. Mostly Kia at Fredericksburg Chancellorsville Mine Run Wilderness spotsylvania ch and north Anna





 
That must be quite moving at night when the lights illuminate each grave.
 
It truly is. They play taps every half hour from 8 until 11. The photos only show about a quarter of the cemetery. It sits on top of Marye heights. The sad thing is many of the headstones have multiple burials. They do these at many of the national cemeteries. If you ever have the opportunity I highly recommend it.
 
They might do it a little different. I always wanted to see one of the smaller ones like poplar grove or Glendale.
 
Antietam is another one that is amazing. They have the candles on the battlefield and you drive through it
