Matt,
In an earlier post, you had said that lancers had been done to death. You have also made your most excellent General Colbert figure. Are there future plans for First Legion to do the Dutch Lancers? Just wondering.:D
Some kind of lancers would be a great subject IMHO. Cossacks, Lithuanians, Brunswick Uhlans, I have seen a plate for Westphalian cheavauleger guard Lancers.

We actually do have a unit of lancers done and ready to be produced. But it's not any of the ones you've mentioned.

In regards to doing Polish or Dutch lancers, I'm quite certain that we'll do them at some point, but not anytime soon. We've really just started getting our cavalry releases going having only released our second full cavalry release. After the British Light Dragoons, we have two more cavalry units ready and both will be produced in 2010. We haven't definitively decided yet what we'll do after those two, but I have some ideas.

Best,

Matt

Thank you for the reply Matt. It never hurts to ask! You have wonderful ideas. Now I can start imagining what is in store.

Ah another puzzle. Well the British had no lancers but ever other country did so the possibilities are rather large. Technically, the Austrian and Prussian lancers were Uhlans but perhaps Matt only meant to eliminate the Brunswick ones but the above remark. There were of course Russian lancers who were not Cossacks. If they are already done I think it is safe at least to rule out Spanish or Portuguese Lancers.;) However, there were as well as many French lancers who were not Polish or Dutch and who were at Borodino and Waterloo, such as the Chevau-Legers Lanciers. H'mmm, these would fit nicely with Colbert, so.........;):D

Sounds good to me. Each cavalry release so far has been fantastic.
