A Rubber Plantation, Long Tan (1 Viewer)

Really like this set, especially the guy with the radio. You have displayed them nicely Steve. Wonder what set two will look like? Something to look forward to. Robin.

Outstanding cobber. The sets in the Vietnam series get better and better as the months roll on. A great credit to young Andy and the team at K&C. Your Dio portrays the extreme situation that 108 Anzacs (105 Aussies & 3 Kiwis) were in when confronted with 2,500 NVA and VC of 274 & 275 NVA Regiments and D445 VC Battalion on there way to attack the Aussie Base at Nui Dat.

Have a pre op briefing showing the troops being told "try not to hurt the rubber trees,,they have to be paid for" Seemed as much BS at the time as it does now,,,thanks big tire co.

Michelin had lots of Rubber plantations out there. During it's time as a French Colony, Michelin was making money hand over fist, during French control. By what you say, sounds like they were still coining it when you were there.

A Mild term,,Id be banned if I said how I really feel and did then,,The Big Plantation was on hwy 13-thunder road along the Cambod. border,,for,,aft and center of some of the worst hard fought areas ,,Some photos in my albums,,Might as well have been the Riviera as untouchable as it was by everyone,,they did condescend to let the U S use the airstrip,,when the wall to wall air America flites ,,business types,etc weren't taking up the pattern,,and it was an easy day at the pool,,tennis courts ,,cafes ,not for us,,now its four lanes with an exit ramp,,,rest easy 2/18th Inf its a new day,
