A Salute to Ed Ruby and James Opie will be held on Saturday, March 10th at Bob Walker's house in the Los Angeles area between 10 am and 4 pm. Lunch will be served and the Glendora High School Pipes & Drums will provide entertainment. For those of you who don't know, Ed Ruby is the famous Britains collector and James Opie is the well-know toy soldier expert and author of "The Great Book of Britains." Unfortunately, the answer is no. He has no plans to reissue the book. However, he has one more book in the works which will be autobiographical.

Despite the rain Saturday (we really need it), we had a great time at the Salute to Ed Ruby and James Opie, both of whom are icons in our hobby. I am sharing some photos that I took at the event, but mainly without commentary. Except, first photo is of James and Ed while the second is of James and the host, Bob. Oh yes, the blonde on the left in the blue coat in the third and fifth photos is my wife of 50 years, Jean.
