Well, it has been a while since we posted any images of new scenic work. There has been a fair number of small scenics produced and sold between all of the W. Britain deadlines for the first catalog of 2009. We have also finished up a few new shelf dioramas and here is a peek at a simple one that works well for several periods, but just screamed to have some ACW figures placed on it.

This is the 11" X 29" shelf unit with some W. Britain Rebs advancing over the stone wall and into the field toward an unseen enemy. The 'wild grass' really helps blend in the metal bases of the figures.

This is a close up of some of the figures including two of my current favorites. I really like the way the Reb officer in the Butternut frock coat turned out...along with the reb carrying the ANV flag over his shoulder. There will be a number of additional ACW figures in the new 2009 catalog too!

Very nice Ken, your scenic displays are top notch as are your sculpts. Although my budget doesn't allow me to collect everything from WB, there isn't a single figure so far that I do not like.

Ken, I am very impressed by your trees. Specifically the one on the left front is just amazing.

Ken, I especially like the stone wall, it is so realistic, especially the way in which the stones are slumped. Any new figures for the AWI? Also is there a new Museum series for 09?
Best wishes,
Benjamin

Hi there!
Thanks for the kind comments on the scenics!
There have been a number of additions to the Museum Series 'Black Watch' in the upcoming catalog to cover a few other periods, including a surprise. We hope to launch a second subject this fall...unit to be determined as of yet. We have been looking and there are so many good choices i feel like a kid in a candy store with only a nickel to spend.
Beyond what has been pictured already there will not be any new AWI in this catalog, but there are a few new sculpts that will appear in a late spring flyer.
We really do not want to overwhelm the retailers and the collectors.
This will be a big catalog as it is, but many of the figures appearing in it have already made it to the retailers.
The catalogs will be printed in the next two weeks and should be at the dealers shortly after that.
Hope this helps!
Ken

Thank you for the kind comments!
I think the next round of dioramas will be moving into the farmyards and villages as I am back into my building and structure mode. I have a Russian barn and a Dutch house that I have been working on now and again and they have worked their way out from under the pile of junk that collects during the mad dash to wrap things up for catalog deadlines.
The next round of deadlines are for the March catalog but we already have most of that pretty much under control. Maybe I can get a few of these other dioramas ready for the West Coaster.

Ken, this shelf unit is just stunning and could be used for so many different ACW scenarios. I definitely have a bias toward ACW. Is the rock wall permanent or can it be moved and extended? Also, are these shelf units available and from whom? I may have to save up for a while but it maybe worth it inthe long run. Again, this is just awesome.

Thx for sharing.

Outstanding work Ken,

The backdrops really finish off the look well.

So, what are you bringing to West Coaster Show?

Carlos

Hi Carlos!
Ericka and I are hoping to bring a fair number of small scenics just as we did in Chicago. Although we still are not offering trees as single items, we will have a few more of the small stands of trees like you purchased from us for sale. These shows are the best venue for us to offer the many unique small vignettes that we like to produce.
We will probably have about half the number of the 11" X 28" shelf scenics just because of the shipping issues...we had 20 of these at Chicago.
I have a few new building patterns just about finished so I should have a few finished samples of these for sale too. I am sure we will post some images here before we go as we did before Chicago.
If there is anything in particular that you or the others would really like to see we are open to suggestions and there is still lead time, so let us know.
See you soon!
Ken

Ken,
I know you have a ton of work but it would really be nice if you had those stands of trees for sale online at Treefrog or Sierra for those of us who don't get to shows. The way your going with your scenics your own company is going to be very big if you want it to.

Hi Again!
If you take a look on the TF Store under Hudson & Allen Studio you will notice the Hedgerow with flat back. These have been on their site for a while now and they are really very useful in the back of a display case to simulate a tree line or a hedgerow.
We also list some of the shelf scenics from time to time, although at the moment everything has sold.
By viewing some of the various threads under H&A on the forum you can see some of the work, and in many cases the pricing. If you have any questions or requests feel free to contact us with PM.
Thanks
Ken
