Greetings & Salutations All,

I thought I would post some pictures of the newest Shelf Diorama from Hudson & Allen Studio. Since we have consistently been asked to do another Autumn scene and to have backdrops, we thought we'd kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. Below are pictures of Ken painting the backdrop. The backdrop was painted to be used specifically with the "Well Traveled Path" diorama. The painting itself measures 16" by 29" and was painted on 3/16th thick Masonite Hardboard. Ken used various acrylic paints to paint the backdrop. It will be affixed to the back of the diorama with 3 screws. I will be posting more photos later tonight.

All the Best,
Ericka

Hi
That looks incredible. Would you consider selling just the backdrop? I know I would like to add backdrops to some of my current dioramas?
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
This backdrop was painted to extend the scene of a specific diorama. At the moment we are so busy with W.Britains catalogue work and our shelf dioramas that we it is unlikely that we will paint just backdrops for the short term. But who knows what tomorrow may bring!

Here are a few pictures of the backdrop in place behind the "A Well Travelled Path" Shelf Diorama. Like our other custom dioramas, this one is 11" by 29" in order to fit into a standard bookshelf. The first picture is of a section of the diorama without the backdrop. The second is the same view with the backdrop. The two W.Brritains Civil War Confederates are in place for scale reference only.

All the Best,
Ericka

Hello Again,
Here a few more pictures of the "A Well Traveled Path" diorama.
The first picture has W. Britains French & Indian War Redcoats British Artillery set for scale reference. The second photo is a close up of the scenery showing our signature wild grass that hides the bases of figures pretty well, some wild flowers and Queen Anne's Lace that seems to grow everywhere!
All the Best,
Ericka

Hi Guys,

I just saw Ken’s beautiful backdrop painting of the forest scene… Fantastic! I love it… as I’ve said many times before… ‘You’re not just a pretty face, Ken!’

All the best mate.
Best wishes and happy painting.

Andy C.

And a few more pictures...
The first photograph has 4 King & Country WWII German figures as scale reference only. This diorama has more flat space than it looks like it has, ideal for many figures or smaller vehicles. The second photo has W.Britains WWII German Kettenkrad and fallschirmjagers for scale reference. This Scenic diorama with hand painted backdrop, signed and dated by Ken Osen, is available for $750.00 plus $38.00 S&H (within the continental US, we will be happy to quote shipping charges outside the US).
If you have any questions, please ask or PM us.
Thank you!
All the Best,
Ericka

WELL !!! I don't know what to say, except if I didn't know any better I'd say that was a photograph. You truly are a man of many talents Ken. And thank you for sharing them with us!

Hello Andy,
Hope everything is well there, it is snowing here! Thank you so much for your kind comments. I really value your opinion. I look forward to seeing you in March to chat some more.
All the Best,
Ken

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the kind comments on our new shelf diorama...A Well Traveled Path. I would like to point out that we use no Photoshop on the images that we post. They are lit with two photofloods and then we shoot away with our digital camera...so you get what you see.
It was fun to take breaks while sculpting all of the new figures. The epoxy I use needs about two hours to set up between sessions and even when doing several at a time I can reach a point where nothing can be handled.
We will post a couple of overall shots of this latest scenic tomorrow for you to get a better idea of the size. Remember that we always design in a fair amount of flat space so you can set up your figures in many different arrangements on these.
Treefrog should have this listed on their site for sale early next week.

Good Afternoon Folks,
I thought I would post a few more pictures of our latest shelf diorama. The first of the pictures shows a column of British soldiers traversing a well traveled path deeper into the wilderness. These are W. Britain figures from their American Revolution Range and are for scale reference only.
The second picture shows the diorama and its backdrop in its entirety. One of the nice things about this particular scene is that it can be virtually any time period and any number of places on our planet.
All the best,
Ericka

These min-shelf dioramas are absolute brilliance! Something everyone takes a shot at doing - just not nearly as well and with such a high degree of realism.
I got very excited at the prospect of a line like this and I certainly hope your expectations are greatly exceeded so that you continue to offer these up - even the perfect shelf size... Brings back some wonderful memories of the old toy store displays I used to see when toy shops actually cared about presentation. I wonder if the series could go into different periods and settings? Be worth every penny. Deep, dark forests, winter scenes, castle walls, trenches, parade grounds... magnificent idea and truly wonderful craftsmanship. Wish I could review it somewhere. Cheers, ssroc1

Hello Good People,
Just letting you know that "A Well Traveled Path" has been sold. Ken & I are already working on our next diorama. We hope to have photos up by the end of next week.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
All the Best,
Ericka
