Hello Everyone. I have a surplus of K&C , Figarti, Collectors' Showcase and various odds and ends. I want to sell some to finance changes of direction. I suspect the market has changed since 2000. I collect WW2 K&C along with AWI, Civil War (both Britains and K&C). Also Figarti Japanese and Wake Island. Most but not all have original boxes. Most have been displayed in a smokefree, pet free home. Any ideas on pricing would be appreciated! Thanks Nightnurse

There has definitely been a change in the hobby since 2000, so there are a number of options available to you. If you sell on eBay via auction the market can set the price for you (though it takes some work). I know people on this forum can be helpful in setting prices (some of them will also be interested in purchasing). Treefrog Treasures (full disclosure, my wife Shannon and I own it...and this Forum) has a consignment service which can handle it all for you. Go to www.treefrogtreasures.com and scroll down the middle of the page to 'Consignment Shop' to find the terms.

In setting prices, you can take a look at eBay but since some sellers charge very high prices you should probably throw out the high and the low.

It would probably be helpful if you post a list of what you have so we can give you some advice. I have recently sold my K & C ACW (the ones made since 2006) and sadly they are bringing less than original retail, even though they are exceptionally sculpted. My experience with Figarti is that, unless it's something really desired by collectors, they sell well below original retail.

Hope that helps a bit.

I've been thinning out my collection via eBay sales for last 6 weeks. I've sold over 100 sets (big and small) in that time and mostly KC, Figarti, Collector Showcase and Thomas Gunn.

Per my analysis last night; Overall, I made 10% above retail before deducting heavy fees from eBay & PayPal.

KC typically lead in appreciation followed by Figarti and Thomas Gunn with Collector Showcase bringing up the rear. I did NOT sell any First Legion, Britians or John Jenkins

Thus far, Figarti was all over the eBay price map. It rarely sold for 60% of retail and more times sold as high as 200% of retail price. Generally it sells between 85-90% of original retail. Beware of paint chips and plainly state in your eBay description if any are present or get it repaired. Buyers will be okay if they know what they are getting.

Obviously, the rarer and more unique the item, the more valuable it is in most cases.

I hope that helps.

Carlos
