Hi Kurt,

JJD's website has shown this as being SO for several months, and most dealers are out of them as well. That said, I think that MinuteMan might have one. If that doesn't work out, you might post a message in the "wanted" section, here, or look on Ebay. FWIW, Mr. Jenkins once shared with me that ACE-11 is a favorite of his, but that it was something of a pain to manufacture. If I recall correctly, he also indicated that there would be no further production of -11.

The Kempf tripe IS a more complicated paint job than JJD's other tripes with similar camo, the yellow tripe of Lothar von Richthofen and the more recent Udet triplane. All three of these tripes have a large proportion of what was standard Fokker type camo, ie., the olive green over turquoise blue base. The Kempf tripe has a lot more of it's surface covered by this rather hard to duplicate paint scheme. On close examination, the Kempf tripe also has this camo applied in a much more detailed and careful manner. The green streaks are varied in width and color tone. Looking at the Udet tripe, the scheme has been simplified, using the green as a base, with the turquoise applied in thin, spare stripes. The yellow tripe is even more basic green than the other two. Now, this is true of my examples and I have to admit I have not seen multiples to compare differences between similar examples of the same plane. The Kempf tripe defintely has the more detailed and, I am sure, more labor intensive scheme to apply. -- Al
