I know there were several Lancer regmts in the ACW era. I found a figure no horse that was a union lancer. I picked up in Chicago I will post a pic soon. He seems to be Britains size Nicely detailed with metal epaulets, a lanyard on the lance and a mustache on his face . I have since repainted him to match a cavalry figure that the Lt sent me. This is a nice figure and it would be very cool to have a squadron of them on my dio. Anyone have some they would like to part with?:D:D:D

You guys gonna look at this and tell me you never have seen one?????

C'monnnnnn I really have to get a link for the camera.:p

Rush's Lancers from PA. was the most notable of this type...I.R. and Bussler made a number of castings of them, in the mfg. early days.....Michael

From what I have read, Rush's Lancers was the only unit of that type that saw any actual action (as lancers) in the Civil War. There were several other units that were raised as lancers, but they were converted to more conventional cavalry or were disbanded before seeing action.

I would love to see some pics of the lancer figure you found.

Good luck with your quest!

D.

The Michigan Toy Soldier Company web site has a photo of Edmund's 6th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (Rush's Lancers) as item CWU066 under Edmund's which is under metal toy soldiers. They are dismounted. I also believe I saw this set at the Old Toy Soldier Home in June.

I still have a painted I.R Rush Lancer mounted ....Michael

Lt your Lancer figure is beautiful! My figure is way more toy like. The dismounted cavalry figure looks very cool with the sabre!

Vamp! I,m not familar with these figures but I talked to the seller breifly about these figures and a couple out of veiw and they were assembled and painted by him.
He also converted a lot of them by changing heads and various other conversions including some rebel figures wich he made into barefoot figures that he did a really great job on. He said he used bare feet from some pirate figures.
I know he said that the kneeling to repel figure was converted from a kneeling firing pose and that he added shanandoha??? miniature heads on a few of them.

Huh, that is scary. That would mean no more Lancer figures unless I make them. I really like the drummer boy also.
