For anyone who may be interested there is a four part series on the American civil War on BBC radio 3 this Sunday at 9.30pm

Rob

Looks like it could be an interesting series. Among the contributors are some of our finest historians of this period, David Blight (author of Race and Reunion), Liz Varon (author of Disunion), James McPherson, Eric Foner (The Fiery Trial) and Gary Gallagher (who has a book coming out at the end of the month or early May about the Union Army).

Hopefully, it will be available for listening by American audiences.

Having CW/WBTS scholars on a UK radio program sounds great. There would be less emotion than a US radio production and possibly more facts and less attempt to be fair.
Hope there's a link or a podcast available in the near future.

I don't really think that would affect scholars of this magnitude. They will tell you what they believe. However, as it's intended for a British audience they probably won't assume that listeners have as basic an understanding as American listeners might.

I'm thinking that a UK audience won't be as emotionally invested in the past outcome of the CW/WBTS. I've seen UK and European Civil War reenactors on line. Is is possible that the US history is just interesting to them as opposed to a "cause."

I collect pre-WW II toy European armies because their wars are just interesting rather than good guy/ bad guy.

I'm curious.

Also this weekend the complete Ken Burns series of the ACW shown back to back on the Military History Channel no 531. Trooper

I would like to think most people are after the pursuit of knowledge or understanding and don't have an ax to grind. Perhaps that's a sign of naivete :redface2:

If you are referring to the US Civil War then ...yes. WINK!!! :wink2:
