I was solely an ACW collector for my first 10 years in the hobby, but in the last few years only about 10% of my purchases have been from that period. Thanks to the new 13th Alabama figures from FL and the sure to follow Iron Brigade opposition, my interest has had a bit of a revival. I just ordered the Buford figure and will more than likely get Reynolds. This had me thinking that as FL produces sets from throughout the 3 day battle, it would be terrific if they added a lot of key personality figures. I think there is great potential with the most important characters, as well as perhaps limited production of many that have hardly if ever produced been produced in the matte toy soldier world. It seems FL has mostly produced only the major commanders when it comes to personalities so far. I have hopes that while producing Gettysburg in depth they will produce major figures like Lee, Longstreet, Meade, and Hancock. What would really be great though is if they would expand to other figures. Perhaps these could be in limited quantities because of likely lower demand. I would love to see John Burns, Barksdale, Ewell, Sickles, Gouverneur K Warren, Strong Vincent, and a few other major figures that have been missing from Gettysburg toy soldier collections. Would any of you other ACW collectors have interest in those? Any suggestions for other choices - maybe Barlow, Howard??

I am also hoping for Day 2 we get the 1st Minnesota and for Day 3 the 69th PA with both battle flags (something I have wanted for a long time).

IInteresting post, I also have had a renewed intrest in First Legion due to their Civil War Gettysburg series. I just picked up a few dismounted cavalry. John Bell Hood leading the Texans up Little Round Top would also be a good choice. I am a proud descenant of my great grandfather who fought with the 153rd. Pa. Volunteers
at Barlows Knoll and Cemetary Hill with the 11th. Corps.
The possibilities for this series are endless and FL is doing it right in my opinion.

Nice to hear about personal connections to Gettysburg. I may exist because of what didn't happen at Gettysburg. My great great grandfather was a member of the only regiment in Pettigrew's brigade not to fight there because they were detached to guard a railroad. He was later wounded in the Wilderness campaign.

Conte did a two figure set of Strong Vincent and Chamberlain on Little Round top that is still available from some dealers. I have this set and, while not to FL standards, is still quite nice. The one photo I found of it online ( http://www.toysoldiers.com/products-soldiers/images/conte/roc004.jpg ) does not do it justice. The set is titled "Hold the ground at all Hazards" and is #ROC004 in the Keith Rocco series.

Late Edit: I just checked and there are a couple of the sets available on eBay.

I would also put a plug in for the PA Bucktails. Not the Bogus Bucktails. But the 13th PA reserves.

Just saw this thread but I agree a hundred percent! I would LOVE to see some high quality personality figures for sure!!!! :)
