ACW Southern Guns a roarin' (1 Viewer)

Come on you guys. The ACW figures will be here maybe next week even. Don't you want to get a head start on praising the Civil War figures. I mean really!

Well since the proofs of all those figures and that diorama are sitting right where I can stare at them in my office as I work, you bet I do. They really are somthing special. Tim Tyler is working on getting me something special to display with them, so next year at the Symposium there may be something really great.

I believe that you are one of the very rare few that already have the new ACW. Can you help out.

Are you able to tell ... if these new series is more the size/scale of the NAPs or are these closer to the Crusader figs ? (which IMO are much smaller than NAPs).

I am very tempted by the new ACW and/or 1776 ... but I need to be certain that these are "compatible" sizewise to the NAPs that I collect. If not, I rather stick to the NAPs ... and build a bigger square.

Much appreciated.

Boy Louis how to rub it in that you have a direct line to K&C and Andy. I am very envious.

I also what you think of their scale. I have several sets of ACW Conte and Britains. I hope that the ACW K&C would work with them.

Thanks,

When I was at Louis' house a few weeks ago - I study those figures carefully as well on size. They are closer to the Crusader figures from what I remember - they look really good. I was affraid they had a "britians look" to them - but, that is not the case. The Civil War is outstanding and very detailed to the high standards of K&C.

Hope that helps.

Ron

Sure does thanks for the info Ron. I really need to geb back to NYC and see Louis's collection. One of these days.

Not a problem - the CW stuff does look great - it unfornately will not go with the Old CW K&C stuff - they are bigger.

Sorry Old Guard,

I don't mean to rub it in. Andy is very accessible to any collector who wants contact with him. It just so happens that I have been collecting K&C for so long, and have known Andy personally for almost 10 years, so we are pretty darn close.

As far as the scale, it is closer to the Crusader figures. And speaking of the Crusader figures, petition Andy and Gordon to post the photos of the new (and much bigger) Crusader/Saracen Castle they made for Fred of Toy Soldier Paris.

Thank you Ron & Louis ... for the clarification of the size/scale of the new ACW.

The new series do look very good ...

Yes I am really from Malaysia ... cant tell if its like Florida, cause I havn't seen Florida myself, except on CSI Miami :D If its hot & humid then its very likely the same.

If you are ever passing by again ... let me know and I will have a few beers lined up. Say ... your honeymoon should be round the corner, the island beaches are good & if you can remember the varieties of food, Malay, Chinese, Indian, Eurasian etc etc

and best of all ... the exchange rate is very much in your favor.

Maybe Andy will make some Fire Zouaves!

He did back in 1991-1993. Two different charging Zoaves and an officer. Take a look at the Glossy K&C thread, the photo of the Union Civil War on the bridge, and they are there. Also the shot with the Confederate Glossy Civil War has K&C early Louisiana Tiger Zoaves & Officer.
