In addition to our full releases for the Union and Confederacy, we are now creating additional standard bearers to be used with new and existing figures. Because there was very little difference in terms of uniforms between various regiments, particularly for the Confederacy, these additional standard bearers can be used with our existing figures to create new regiments for your ACW dioramas and displays. The first one is ready and if the standard bearer for the 5th Texas infantry.

I think these battleflags are a great idea. Once a standard Union registment is issued. Then it becomes an issue of just mixing the battle flags. unless we have a unique unit like the Bucktails or a Zouave unit.

I completely agree, I only have one figure so far from this range and was planning on getting the Standard bearers with General Lee I guess that collection is gonna be a bit larger then I planned. regards Gebhard

I think the different flagbearer concept is a good one, I would however prefer a new sculpture as opposed to just reissuing previously
released sculptures. First legion is taking a backward step in my opinion by doing this.

I don't think it's unusual for a company to release different flag bearers using the same sculpt. Perhaps we will see other troops to go with the flag bearer.

It was brought to our attention that we had a few errors in the standard of ACW090 5th TX Standard Bearer. Rather than ship the figure with errors on it, we have corrected it. The following changes were made so that the figure is a much more accurate depiction:

1. Added the streamer to the right side of the flag with the regiment's latin motto - Vivere Sat Vincere - “To conquer is to live enough.”
2. Corrected the text/font of "5th TX" to match the historic flag
3. Added the Battle Honors on the left side of the flag.
4. Enlarged the Center Star on both flags as with the historical flag.

We have updated our online catalog with new images shown below. We thank those for pointing out our errors and we are much more confident in the accuracy of this version of our ACW090 Confederate 5th Tx Standard Bearer.





Correcting this figure has delayed our new releases this month by about 8 days, so everything will be shipping to customers and dealers around January 8th or so.

I like the revisions that First Legion has made with the Confederate Flagbearer. I have changed my opinion, the changes are enough from the NC Flagbearer to substantially differentiate between the two. I will buy one at some point.
