This was a kit that I had bought earlier in the year from Vienna. Nice crisp castings. Finally assembling it. The size is closer to 60mm. Now perusing some bkgd material on this empire from some of the books that I had bought.

Hi Thanasis,

thanks for yr inputs. You reminded me of the uniformology site. Very useful info. Hopefully this figure will be the nucleus of an Austro-Hungarian collection for me.

Thank you for your response. I am trying too to do the same and I already have a small stock of Kuk figures. Below 2 more from Irregular miniatures. I will be back with more photos and some useful links.

Hi Thanasis and John,

Thx for sharing your KuK figures here. These Austro Hungarian uniforms are really colourful. Following my recent trip to Austria and the Netflix showing of The Empress about Sisi and Franz Joseph, I'm inspired to continue building up more AH figures.

I corrected some anatomical errors and have started to paint my ADC, opting naturally for the blue tunic uniform.

Good morning to both,

I hope you had a good Christmas.
I found some pictures of Bohm zinnfiguren shop in Wien where your figure comes from and it seems that many more kuk figs are available. However I think that only by phone I van contact (is there any email adrees on the package?). I attached below a photo of a Del Prado Men at Arms series. Is one of King & Country's hidden gems. A Kuk hussar. I now have 4 of this figure. From left to right is the original. In the middle is one I painted in dark blue attila. The 3d is primed and It will be painted in dark brown attila, as a ku Honvend Gestutsbranche corporal (see the other 2 attachments). Gestutsbranche was the horse breeding service of the army.
I will be back with the links.
Your nice figure if painted in green will be a Flugeladjutant. If in hechtgraiu I think, but i am not sure, a General of the General Staff.

All the best
Thanasis

Hi Thanasis,

Thanks for the inputs. I attach Carl Bohm's name card, no email. I did spend a very pleasant time in his shop just chatting. He is open on weekdays at those times clearly stated. Worth a visit as he has many old oop kits stowed in cupboards within the shop.

Here's an old toy soldier band and colour party of mine from Frontline Miniatures. Got this from Hong Kong directly from the owner then Gerald Prime.

I probably will try to build up a KuK collection centred around Empress Sisi and the young Franz Josef, similar to my Nap III setup.

Rgds

Victor
