A pretty reasonable way to highlight your dios, especially Roman/Greek is to use products made for aquariums.I was in Petsmart today and I saw bridges, ruined temples plus other items that would fit in your dios. The Sphinx was even there and would fit in nicely with the Egyptian ranges.Just some food for thought put out there as there are gonna be a lot of Roman dios being built.

Mark,

yes, I have also noticed such items, but only in on-line catalogs. I have looked in some local aquarium suppliers, but the items look a bit trashy, but I'll keep looking and maybe find something that wil match for Napleon in Egypt.

You may be on to something , Mark.
I have seen some fantastic backdrops for aquariums that work wonderfully for small dio's, as well as incredible surfaces for the bottom of the tank that can be used as Rock outcroppings and more.

Do a simple "BING" or "GOOGLE" search (IMAGE TAB) and you can see what I mean.

Some of the ones I saw at Petsmart are very well done. Most you can't use but like Larry said there are rock outcroppings that can be used very well and the bridge I saw was very well done as well as the temple remains. These are done much better than the ones at a store like Walmart.

Another item that I discoverd this weekend that might help in a backdrop for a display is a local "STARVING ARTIST Sale".

We have these art sales where many local artists sell wonderful paintings at incredible prices. Many are lanscapes that "might" fit well with certain dioramas. (Woods, Mountains, Streams, Fields). Keep an eye out for one in your area. :wink2: ---- Larry
