To display my R4a four Argyll and Sutherland highlanders I scratch built two facades using foamboard and wood putty. It started as one façade and I just added on to it. It is crude, but it was fun to build. The base is supposed to depict the Crater in Aden. The Aden Pharmacy and Grundig signage are based on an actual photograph from the 1960s. The main building is a composite of Yemenite architecture. The political graffiti is also based on period photographs. Flosy stands for the Front for the Liberation of South Yemen, which was supported by Egypt’s strong man/dictator Nassar. The NLF is the National Liberation Front. The insurgents on the roofs are made by Fields of Conflict. They are ok at a distance. The man in the balcony window is an AIP jihadist that I modified. The Indian selling cooking pots is from Britains Durbar range.
