A few years ago AeroArt published A History in Miniature: The St. Petersburg Collection. This was a two volume work that came in a slip case, the first volume was a history of the Collection written by Thor Johnson and the second volume was an index guide with photos of everything they made between 1992-2004. It sold for well over $100; I’m not sure of the exact price.

AeroArt has reduced the price to $35. Yes, that’s correct, $35. I received my copy today and it’s fabulous, a bargain for what you get. I suppose they reduced the price to reduce their inventories of the book. As I said, it’s a steal at that price.

Yes, a great book and one in need of updating given the passage of time. I wish every manufacturer would do something along these lines even if it is less formal. It's nice to have pictures and details of the individual figures that can be referenced in one place.

I agree it needs updating but I was looking at one of the older threads in the Russian Manufacturers section and someone said -- maybe Zach -- it didn't seem likely.

I think a soft cover just updating the releases that have occurred since the book would be great. The photos already exist. I'm sure it's probably a pain to publish though and not much money to be made. I liked the production numbers as well since that gives an idea of the scarcity of some figures. Although I found them a bit unclear in some instances since I think Aeroart doesn't have the exclusive rights to all the figures they produce. So the production numbers might just account for those sold by Aeroart while the Russians could have sold others. There were also a few very limited figures they did. As in fewer than twenty produced. Other than the figures themselves there is probably no record anywhere of them.

Nikki told me they want to, but not on the front burner. I did send them some figures they didn’t have to be photographed. I don’t know if that was in the event of a new book or if it was just for their collection

I just talked to Nikki and she basically told me the same thing. It’s very expensive to make a book of this kind. I doubt we will see anything anytime soon unfortunately.

She also told me they’re trying to get rid of their inventory of the books, which is why it’s priced at $35. I assume the overhead and carrying charges are too high.
