The Norman Conqueror Robert Guiscard, the First Duke of Appua, First Duke of Calabria and Prince Benvenuto, after conquering most of Southern Italy and Sicily, in 1080 founded "Badolato Borgo," the Town of Badolato, on the East Coast of Calabria, making one of his younger sons the First Baron Badolato. My family is descended from the Barons Badolato, and thus, from Robert Guiscard. I had discussed my family history with Thor at a show in New Jersey in 2016, and he told me he was considering making a figure of my ancestor. Here is the magnificent figure of him made by Aeroart, in the process of leading his men to conquer a Southern Italian or Sicilian City, along with a photo of Badolato Borgo during its August festival, when my name is literally up in lights:

Louis,
I have read about your predecessor. And i have just recently added his likeness to my collection.
In my case,he chose the green cloak, sash, and a different shield on the day painted. but a fine image of a famous warrior, in any colors.
thank you for the story.

I live about 63 km from Badolato! ;) In Locri, that is due south, going towards Reggio Calabria and the tip of Italy. Badolato is a pretty little town!

This summer in Gerace i attended a reenactment of the famous meeting of the two brothers Roger the Norman and Robert the Guiscard or as we call them Ruggero il Normanno e Roberto il Guiscardo...the reenactment was not the state of the art..but Gerace is always beautiful, you must come Louis!

I've been to Italy many times, even went to school there for a year in the 1980's, but I have never been to Badolato Borgo. I would love to come!
