Hi
I am making an ACW camp scene. I've made the base, have affixed the matt and am ready to start placing figures and object. What is the best way to affix the figure so they don't move (if diorama picked up), but not in a permanent way. I am using a build-a-rama grass mat, so "fluffy". Is this possible, or are they either glued down or loose as the only options?

I use "tacky wax" which works well and can be scraped off or cleaned off with some detergents.
Available online or at hobby and crafts stores.

I was going to suggest tacky wax but wasn't sure how it would work on fabric. You could cut holes in the fabric and then use tacky wax I suppose ?

It does work with fabric but better if the fabric is pulled tight. I used it on a Build-a Rama matt and it does work. Putting an "X" cut in the fabric and then inserting the base with the tacky wax disguises the base.

How would poster tack work, then, too? I use 3M's poster putty to fix figures in place on glass shelves in some display cases. Could you use that with the scenic mat?

Prost!

I'm going to try with wax and "tack". It might be just enough to hold it for the slight bumps that might happen

Zach...tacky wax will stick to anything...imagine bee's wax...tacky wax is really good and easy to clean off the base...

Zach, I think i saw photos from the London Show where someone had secured the figures with a wire. That I think you promise more success if the matt is glued to a board of wood or foam.
