First Legion Pz IV-f1 has been detailed and repainted to show a well weathered vehicle in late 1942.jy20-2.jpgjy20-3.jpg

Another nice scene and great use of the Panzer IV with the figures. Nice backdrop as well.

I must admit that I always get a little excited when I see the words/title of Afrika Korps.
Nice shot and custom paint on your Panzer IV, Phoenix. Love the sand in the shot. Well done!

Love desert Panzers!

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately The War in the Desert is not as popular with collectors as Normandy or Russia but I find it fascinating!

Rob; great photos; your 21st Century Panzer III could be mistaken for the FL model. I painted the return rollers rubber rims black on mine and changed the unit markings to 21st Panzer Division. I posted it in my DAK diorama, with a K&C Panzer Komander. The 21st Century Panzer III is the Cold Steel version; which is oversize and works very well with 60mm figures IMO.

Hahahaha! Time to seen the eye doctor!

I have seen an Optometrist and I have Macular Degeneration and Cataracts; however neither condition obscures the fact that the 21st Century Panzer III has superior detail to polystone models and costs far less. The 21st Century model is built up from resin and diecast metal; so it has better materials and weight than resin models. The sprockets, idlers and tracks are far superior to polystone models and equivalent to the FL Panzer III with realistic running gear. The Eagle design Panzer III is superior with its metal tracks; which I hope FL will adopt in future Panzers. Metal tracks have been state of the art in 1/35 scale model armor for many years.

What I find funny is that a 21st Century Panzer III would have details and materials superior to Toy Soldier armor at a fraction of the cost, even though it was made over 12 years ago. The implication is that Toy Soldier (60mm) technology levels are static. Prices rise but quality and features stay the same! Eagle Design has changed this paradigm IMO.

Just my 2 cents on this topic.....I have purchased 2 grey Eagle Design Panzer III's and 2 grey Eagle Design Panzer II's.....They are VERY WELL DONE right out of the box.:salute::....The other AK thread by Phoenix 26 shows what can be done to make them even better......The Panzer II was $95 the Panzer III was $135.....These are the BEST BUY in the hobby at the moment......Very good quality at a very fair price:salute::....Oh and in case anyone would like to know: "My eyes function perfectly fine" ("Praise be to the Lord"):smile2:

Actually, FL needs more waking figured for both Slatkngrad and Waffen SS..

Awesome work ! I wish FL could send us some of those walking AK figures in a version that would work on the eastern front-really like the sculpts/poses.

Im sorry to hear that.. Im praying for you.. Do you have any of the retired gray german AFVs you would like to part with?

Unfortunately I have ALS and about six months left to live. I have a friend who helps in staging the dioramas and I hope we can continue for another 3-4 months.

When I had bot the Eagle Design Panzer and FL Panzer III, I put them both together and the Eagle Design was bigger,, they didn't work with each other.. Here we go again, another "scale/size" debate!

Its really something to see a fellow collector and hobbyist countinuing to enjoy themselves and having fun with something like this on your plate. Your the man, and I hope they got it all wrong and you go strong for another 50 years.

Very sorry to hear of your bad news Phoenix, I surely commend you on keeping up the positive attitude and as Gebs said, I as well hope they are all wrong in your long term future outlook and you live a long life, thoughts and prayers are with you friend.
