I acquired this little Fireman off ebay, and would like to know the age, maker etc. Details are:-
Total height 45mm, hollow, not sure about the paint, it's very powdery. No sign of any marks on the base, but I will get out the paint stripper soon. I just wanted to make sure it's not some long lost rarity, before I start messing with it.

OK, I have tried cold water, and the paint goes a lot darker, so probably just poster paint applied after sale. I then tried alcohol based hand gel, this is beginning to lift the paint a treat, and I have found T & B under the base, so Taylor & Barrett is is then. I would love to know the age though . . .

OK I have repainted him, wish I knew his age though...

Nice restoration!

I'll look in O'Brien's book and see what reference I can find.

Thanks Brad. I ran out of Brass paint for the helmet, so used Gold. I expected to have to rub it over with black boot polish, but I like the look.
