AIP adding new colors for the 8 lb. Gribeauval Gun (1 Viewer)

AIP will be issuing their Napoleonic French 8 Pound Gun in new colors as follows:


1. Green as a Russian Gun
2. Dark Blue as a Prussian Gun
3. Pumpkin as an Austrian Gun


These will be issued without crews. There will not be any new gun crews.


They say this is in response to collector feedback. No release date has been announced yet.

Nineteen sets have been released, divided between The SYW and the Napoleonic Wars.


Three sets contains guns without crews. Lime Green for Russia, Pumpkin for Austria and Dark Blue for Prussia.


Twelve sets have a SYW theme.


The “Army” boxes contain eight infantry, 3 cavalry and one gun in national colors.


The SYW infantry are the AIP F&I War French figures and he cavalry are AWI Light Dragoons. Everything is in Blue for the Prussians, Green for the Russians and White or Pumpkin for the Austrians.


There are also combinations with figures for opposing sides and a couple sets have AWI British cavalry in Red.


Four “Army” boxes are Napoleonic Wars themed: Russians, KGL, French and Prussians.


The eight infantry are the previously released infantry for those armies. The cavalry is from the series of Crimean War cavalry sets that were released earlier in various colors as Napoleonic cavalry. The cavalry and infantry are different colors except for the Grey KGL.
