It on "Nova" PBS on Wednesday. I don't when it airs for the rest of the nation. Check it out, looks good.

Enjoyed it mainly for the flying reproductions but also for the explanations of the various difficulties that early flight combat and recon presented. Well done show. -- Al

I fell asleep while watching it and saw only bits & pieces. The previous night, I went to bed at 1:00 am, after seeing the movie Fury and having a few beers with a friend.

Keep an eye out for re-runs. It already repeated here this AM. -- Al

I had taped this awhile ago and just watched it this morning. In fact, I liked it so much, I watched it twice. It's incredible to see before your eyes the technological advancements made in airplanes.

Particularly fascinating was how the problem of sequencing the propeller with the machine gun was solved. It's an incredible breakthrough you think about it. Without it, where would airplanes be. I also liked the initial British reaction: we'll put the engine in the back! Hope John makes a Pusher.

It shows that military inventions have the shortest shelf life. Something will always come out to top it.

You also have to admire the men in NZ who are painstakingly re-creating these planes for posterity.
