PRE-HUDSON...

"Charlie Macgill was piloting a USAF C-124 from Japan to San Francisco (Hamilton AFB) the day this occurred. His route took him over the site and he circled the zone for quite awhile, relaying radio messages to all points until the successful ditching. As a result, he said they really sweated out the fuel getting to Hamilton. Interesting how our main stream media has not researched and found this earlier.:confused:

This is very special to see 52 years later. Click the small photo within the news story to see the plane 'splash down.' The video/film of the event is memorable. You will need to turn-up your volume for the film. This then is the first successful ditching of a commercial Pan Am airplane where all survived and were picked up by the U S Coast Guard patrol boat "Lake Ponchatrain". "

Example of ditching where everyone survived:

Can you imagine being in the air that long, knowing that you're about to hit the sea!

Well done!
