So as a fan of the original Alien movies, I really wanted to like this one. And it is not awful. But more a two-hour video game rather than a movie. The actors are young. As in 20ish. The movie is LOUD. A siren blares for half the movie. My ears were ringing like I had been to a Quiet Riot concert. The soundtrack is fabulous, though. The best since The Thing. It is also dark as in hard to see. The plot is overly complicated. I couldn't figure out what was going on half of the time. I'm guessing the movie is targeted to a younger audience but there was nary a teenager to be seen at the movie theatre where I saw it. Everyone was over 40. Interested to see how the box office performs.
