Hello, this is Ken Cliffe of All the King's Men Toy Soldiers. I'm new here, and a new creator of 54mm toy soldier playsets and wargame sets. Feel free to visit our website:
http://allthekingsmentoysoldiers.com/
ATKM currently offers two sets focused on the AWI Battle of Trenton. One is dedicated to George Washington and his Continentals, while the other is dedicated to Hessian Colonel von Rall and his German mercenaries. Each set includes 50 figures, a battalion gun, a foam-resin building and wall, hills, wargame rules, game tools, flags and literature on the battle. All figures are currently in pewter and come unpainted, but there are planety of pictures of how they can look painted all over the ATKM site.
The rules you get, aptly called "All the King's Men," are in what's these days called the "old-school style." That means simple, fast, fun play -- perfect for toy soldiers. You can also check out a free pdf download of the rules on the site.
In addition to all of this, we offer Hessian and Continental figures in bagged units, or solitary, and also offer the buildings and terrain pieces separate from the sets.
This is all in our effort to bridge the gap between toy soldier collectors and wargamers. The rules are easy enough that you can play very quickly, taking your collection from the bookshelf and putting it into action on a tabletop. Meanwhile, the rules and sets show traditional wargamers that you can actually re-fight battles with the big guys on a reasonably sized table.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and my little company. We'll be at OTSN in Chicago next week, in room 5302 and then down on the convention floor on Sunday. One of the deals we're offering there is free shipping on purchases of $200 USD or more to the Continental US. (Many of us get more stuff than we can carry home!) I'd like to extend that offer here as well to anyone who can't make the show. Just mention this post and ATKM will foot the shipping bill for you.
I'm glad to be aboard here, and look forward to fun discussions of the hobby.
