All the new DD sets are on a diorama called "Long Shot" (1 Viewer)

Very nice indeed, you gotta love that Jeep and M12.:)

One thing is sure, that war correspondant is really, really not nervous

Pierre.

:D Yes they don't get much more 'Front line' than that do they?!

I hate to say it but, I'm not all that crazy about this years DD figures. I do like and will buy Bradley and Gavin, but I am a little disappointed overall. As a new collector I feel like I've missed the glory days of great peices like the LCVP, Patton's Command Car and the Jimmy Truck. (Paying big bucks on ebay for a classic piece kind of takes some of the joy out of having it.) I'm sure the Rammjager will be cheering me up soon, though!:D

Wow, Im surprised by that. I started collecting K&C just before the Jimmy truck got retired and I would have to say that the 155mm gun and the patrol jeep might be up there with some of the better DDay stuff Ive seen. I guess I like the 155 because its a more unique piece and its field artillery. But everyone is different and entitled to their own opinion.

I guess the 155 doesn't appeal to me because I can't remember seeing any pictures of it. The idea of Supersize pieces is cool though and I look forward to what is next. Regarding the jeep, the hitch on the front ruins it for me. I prefer the DD49 jeep. But my main disappoint is with the infantry (DD82-87). The poses are the least interesting we've seen in a while and the faces aren't up to current K&C high standards in my opinion.

Yes i am interested to know what is coming next in the Kingsize range.I like the look of the 155 as it is something a little different. Its also good to have an Allied piece of artillery,i also like the crew that comes with it.Havn't made up my mind about the Glider troops as yet,i think they would fit in well next to my US Paras.

I think they look great and will be added to the collection.

The 155 is truely awsome! Now Gordon needs to design a large scale gun enplacement diorama piece ala spo24 style!

There were only 100 M12s built, 74 were reconditioned for service overseas and all went to Europe. There were used to break the Siegfied Line and in other actions from late summer onwards. There are quite a few photos out there if you look around. Cheap resource - "US Self-Propelled Artillery In Action" from Squadron/Signal, only abouy $8-$9.

Regarding the jeep, the hitch on the front ruins it for me. I prefer the DD49 jeep."

The "hitch" is a homemade wire cutter, fairly common on frontline Jeeps in ETO. The cutter kept the driver from being decapitated by low hanging wires - either from German troops or careless US signal men.

Thank you Alex,i was wondering that too.

I think that M-12 is an instant classic piece for K&C - a real collectors item :)

Its a must have Monster.NP,I think M30 is a great idea and would make for a wonderful dio.
