All-time favorite WWII pieces (1 Viewer)

Hi Joe,

I'm sorry mate!. I have listed my fave items but i don't yet know how to post pics.I'll get it one day,and then there will be no stopping me!:)

Rob

Hopefully so Rob, I'm sure once you start you'll be like a lillte kid playing for the first time with his toy soldiers. Thanks for replying............Joe (aka The Lt.)

CC it amazing with all of the WWII KC collectors who praise KC for their favorites only two have taken the time to share them. Rob "The Colonel" was good enough to reply and hopefully he'll soon be posting figures. I give both you and Louis alot of credit unlike others you've shown how proud of what you've collected instead of just talking about what you got. Bet I start a hornet's this with this posting with loads of excuses......The Lt.

My only excuse is i'm rubbish on the PC!

Yeah, I love my troopers. It was more really luck than anything else as my dad was over for the weekend and he had his camera. I wanted nothing more this weekend than to show my figs off to you guys. My dad is a train collector but my mom has Parkinson's so he can't put up dioramas and all of his trains. It's really sad as he had a section of his basement set up and ready to go for his grandkids and trains but now he has to take care of my mom more than he was anticipating so his train project is progressing far slower than he hoped it would. This still gives us a chance to do a father and son activity and allows him the chance to experience some fun with dioramas and all. I haven't bought a digital camera so that he can still be "in the loop". We have fun with it- at 34 I am still his son and he's still my dad.

My troopers- those guys in the pics, especially the mohawk trooper- I have taken him out to clients and even to the bar the night I got him. On my audits, I would position him at the edge of my table and have all the new staff kids file their questions or workpapers for review with him. I have taken them to clients as well- usually June 6th for DDay and October 3rd for the "Black hawk down" commeration. I have considered bringing them to my clients on June 13th as well- a buddy of mine from basic was killed in Iraq on that day back in 2003. Instead, I wear my American flag tie- feel that is more personal as it's closer to my heart.

Here are some of my favorite pieces, as follows:

Matilda Tank (among some other Eighth Army soldiers)

Lee Tank, with the Bogart figure. Tank is a bit crude but is one of my favorites. Would love to see K & C update this. Unfortunately not in the cards right now.

Part of the Normandy Village. Wonderful facades.

Arnhem figures.

One of my two K & C Spits.

Three planes: two ME 109s made by K & C and a Hawker Hurricane made by Motion Models.

Rommel Staff Car. It took me about seven or eight tries (I lost count) on ebay to get. One of my favorites.

Hardest decision I ever had to make- 3 years ago I let my Rommel car go for $65 - what I paid for it. I saw one on Ebay last week that went for $499. I will never see it again :( :( :(

Did you notice that his boots are quite shiny!!

Joe,

Thanks for starting this thread. A very nice idea. You do a lot for this Forum and I think that needs to be recognized.

Ron,

Did we post just the Jenkins stuff or the Napoleonic items too?

Brad

It was both jenkins and Napoleonics if I remember correctly.

Was there a K&C Thread for Diorama's at one time?

Ron
