Hi All,

I saw something today (8 September 06) that was really upsetting. Some lunatic has decided to break up an Alwars carriage set on ebay. They are selling the elephants seperately. I have not seen the carriage its self but I am sure it will be forth coming as it would look stupid without the elephants. Now I dont know how many sets of this wonderful piece there are but I have heard a very small number so I was really devestated by this. I know some folks dont see anything wrong with breaking up sets but I think this set is amazing. Sorry to see this happen.

Dave

PS here are the auction numbers: 260025067485 & 260025067858

Dave,

No need to get upset; I don't know who is selling them but they might be our Spanish dealers whom had their own carriage damaged by customs checking.

We replaced the 4 damaged elephants to them and they asked if, instead of sending the damaged elephants back, they could sell the re-touched elephants separately. As it is very expensive for us to re-import everything that has been already exported, specially if they are damaged goods returning to be repaired, this didn't sound as a bad idea.

So don't worry; nobody is desmembering the Alwar's carriage; it is quite safe. But thanks for caring :)

Dave,

It's not hard. Just right click, then choose copy. Go back to the Forum and then right click and paste.

I've become interested in 54 thanks to Louis and old K and C and I'd love to get some Beau Geste, if only I could find the money.

Thank you, Brad. It's Bill the Bandsman who is selling them. He always orders custom bands for his e-shop, and this time he ordered loose the elephants from the carriage as generic elephants, to go with some foot Durbar bands. He sells them so much better this way.
